artist statement

The theme of the city is at the heart of my artistic approach. What attracts me in the beauty of this urban world comes down to two elements; architecture and the people who live there. I love to observe, and the urban life that surrounds me is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Since I do not use photos to keep accurate patterns, I use my memory to create anonymous and imaginary characters. These are the same characters who are the main actors of my works. Whenever I meet a passer-by in the street, I always ask myself questions that I never have answers to. Where does he go, where does he come from? In short, what is his story? This reflection stimulates the imagination. It is this questioning that I try to capture through my works. I want to pique the curiosity of the viewer through characters who coexist in pictorial environments.
